9:45 a.m.-10:00 a.m.: Welcome and introduction of morning speaker

10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: Basics of Writing Grant Proposals. Presenter: Dawn Fuentes, Deputy Director of Community Relations and Training at the City of New York Civilian Complaint Review Board (www.ccrb.nyc.gov)
The morning will consist of an introduction to grant writing. Learn the structure of a grant, what to include, how long grants should be, define your target audience, how to be strategic and persuasive about your message, etc.

1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.: Capacity – Building Grants: Federal & Corporate Funding Opportunities for Experiential Education.

In this All-Inclusive, resource-rich session, participants will find everything they need to get started on their way to grant seeking and grant management success. Expand projects in education, environment, public safety, homeland security and other critical areas through major programs like AmeriCorps, FWS, corporate and federal initiatives. By the end of the session participants will know all the steps to locate $$$ including grantee database and resources to enhance strategic investments in expansion of experiential education.

By Subway or Train
The Eighth Avenue (A and C trains), the Sixth Avenue (B and D trains), and Broadway (1 train) lines stop throughout the day at Columbus Circle, a half-block south of the Manhattan campus entrance. By Bus
The 57th Street and 66th Street cross-town buses stop at Broadway. The Manhattan campus entrance is three blocks north of 57th Street and five blocks south of 66th Street.
